History of the school

Morning Star School was the first English Medium School established at Choolaimedu in the year 1966 by Founders - (Late) Mr. S. Arputharaj B.A.,B.L., and (Late) Mrs. Grace Arputharaj M.A.,B.T.,

MORNING STAR MATRICULATION HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL – 50th YEAR OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT

The School was named after our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (Morning Star actually means Jesus Christ). Therefore we gratefully thank our Almighty God for guiding and leading us for the past 50 years.

Memories take us to 1966 when the seeds of Morning Star School were sown with just 70 students and classes functioned from Lower Kinder-Garten to II Standard only.

In 1973, the untiring efforts of our founders led to the recognition of this school as an All India Senior Secondary School affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education – New Delhi.

In 1989, we switched over to the State Matriculation System to facilitate our students to get admission easily to Degree Courses in Colleges for General Education as well as for Professional Courses like Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary Science etc.,

Presently we are following the Equitable Pattern of Syllabus (Samacheer Kalvi) as per the Norms of the Government of Tamil Nadu. This Equitable Syllabus is followed from Std.I upwards.

Our School is recognized by the Director of School Education, Chennai.

The Medium of Instruction is English

Tamil is the Second Language for all classes. However French is available as a Second Language for the Higher Secondary Classes.
